Obituary of David J. Stewart

David J. "Hank" Stewart, 73, died peacefully at his home in Johnstown with his family by his side on Saturday April 19, 2008. He had been in ill health for several years. He was born in Gloversville on June 28, 1934 the son of the late David and Mildred Barker Stewart. Hank is survived by his wife, the former Doris Schreivogl of Johnstown; two sons: David Laura Stewart of Johnstown and Karl Theresa Stewart of Saratoga; a daughter, Monique Stewart of Gloversville; two step-daughters: Denice Andrews Dana of Pulaski and Michelle Pawlaczyk of Tribes Hill; a step-son, Jeffrey Stewart Carleen of Gloversville; a sister, Vida Kane Robert of Caroga Lake; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a nephew and several cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Stewart. The family will receive friends at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 11-1 pm. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm in the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Neil Kirby, life-long friend of Hank. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda. Donations may be made in Hank's memory to the American Cancer Society, Mountain Valley Hospice, Life Christian Center in Johnstown or Life Savers Ministries in Gloversville.
