Obituary of Richard James Ficili

Richard James Ficili Sr., 55, passed away Saturday April 19, 2008 in Gloversville under the care of Mountain Valley Hospice. He was born in Allentown, PA on March 17, 1953 the son of Salvatore and Florence Held Ficili. Richard was formerly employed by Carville National Leather in Johnstown. He was also a former member of the Space League at Perry Lanes in Johnstown. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and working on cars. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Costello Ficili of Gloversville; three sons: Richard James Ficili Jr. and his wife Amanda of Vilas, NC, Joshua Mathew Ficili of Vilas, NC and Andrew Michael Ficili of Gloversville; his mother, Florence Ficili of Gloversville; his twin brother Anthony S. Ficili of Gloversville; a sister, Cynthia L. Ficili and her companion Laurie L. House of Johnstown; three brothers-in-law: Jim, Bob and Jack and a sister-in-law, Sharon; a granddaughter, Bella and his beloved dog Taz. His father Salvatore S. Ficili predeceased him in 2004. Calling hours will be Tuesday April 22 from 4 to 8pm at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak, celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
