Obituary of Helen M. Taberski
Amsterdam, NY—Helen M. Taberski, 87, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville with her loving family at her side.
Born July 29, 1929 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine Pierog Zabo. She was a lifelong resident and she graduated in 1947 from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her family, loved spending time with them throughout the years and was always taking care of her home. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
On May 26, 1951 she married Edward S. Taberski who passed away June 27, 2013.
She was also predeceased by her son, James Taberski who passed away in 2002; her brother Edward Zabo and two sisters, Regina Hasenfuss and Theresa Ruff.
Survivors include her son, Thomas E. (Kathy) Taberski, Town of Florida; a sister, Joan (Dominick) Gonzales of Fulton NY; two grandchildren, Thomas (Jessie) Taberski of Hillsboro, OH and Michael (Andrea) Taberski of Amsterdam; two great granddaughters, Ashley and Anna; four great grandsons, Jace, Cru, Allen and Andrew; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services and a gathering will be private and will be held at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Private burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
