Obituary of Janice D. Klemme

Mrs. Janice D. Klemme, 60, of State Highway 162, Sprakers, NY died peacefully on Thursday, May 01, 2008 at home following a long illness. Born in Schenectady on April 21, 1948 she was the daughter of Kenneth and Mary McNamara Darrow. Janice was educated locally and was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. She then attended the College of Saint Rose where she graduated with her degree. Janice was employed as a math teacher at St. Helen's School in Niskayuna until the onset of her illness. She then volunteered for the Fort Plain School District doing presentations on butterflies and moths. On July 25, 1970 she was united in marriage to Karl S. Klemme at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Fort Plain. Together they raised a beautiful family and made their home in Sprakers. Janice loved flowers, butterflies and gardening. She enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, camping and being with her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Her loving family includes, her dedicated husband, Karl; her parents, Kenneth and Mary Darrow of Sprakers; one daughter, Susan of Albany; two sons, Sean of Albany and Brian of Sprakers; one sister, Patricia Young and her husband Edward of Palatine Bridge; two brothers, William Darrow and his wife Jean of Rochester and Robert Darrow and his wife Karen of Glenville; her mother in law, Dena Marie Klemme of Hugo, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be offered on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 at 11 o'clock at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Reid Street, Fort Plain. Interment will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda. Calling hours are Monday evening from 4 until 7 at the funeral home, where a Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held at 7 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
