Dear Anne,John,Albert,Vito & families,
Our deepest condolences on the deaths of both sisters. We knew Sophie from Wilkinson's. She held a special place in my husband's heart& they shared a special bond.
We aren't able to make the services because we will be in Webster,NY. granddaughter's 1st Holy Communion. We will light a candle Saturday in St. Rita's Church in memory of Sophie. We will miss her immensely! She touched a lot of hearts at Wilkinson Center.
Again our deepest sympathy for your loss. Our love & prayers are with you.

To Sophie's family,
My sincerest sympathy to each of you.
I don't know if you will remember me but I remember each of you.
In 1958 I was sitting in our front yard on West Main Street when a beautiful white Oldsmobile pulled up to the curb and a lady approached me, introduced herself to me and asked me if I wanted to come work for her. You can imagine my surprise when here I was just 17, having just graduated from high school and getting ready to attend Cosmetology school in a couple of months.
We had never met before, but as she put it, "she knew my family" and then went on to say that she would train me while I was going to school. I thought I was dreaming.
Sophie Marsicano was a woman before her time. Sophie had vision, a head for business, showed fairness to those who worked for her, was demanding but only to maintain a business that was recognized by everyone in the city as the cleanest shop with employees who loved their job and had the deepest respect for her and what she stood for.
Lucky for me several years ago I had the chance to thank Sophie for the opportunity she gave to me before I retired from teaching Cosmetology. I have not, nor will I ever forget the chance we both took and it worked so well for both of us.
I had never met anyone like Sophie, never have since and I believe I never will. Rest well, Sophie in God's loving arms.
