Obituary of Elaine S. Thomas

Elaine S. Thomas, 78, of Johnstown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Born in Amsterdam, New York on April 15, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Anthony Thomas and Pearl Shaw Thomas Kenney. An area resident for most of her life, Elaine attended Amsterdam city schools. She served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1957 until 1959. Following her return to Upstate New York Elaine worked for Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville for several years until her retirement. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her three children, Pamela Horton, Brian (Laurri) Kretschmer and Ted (Trudy) Kretschmer; three siblings, Mary Larkin, Bart (Judy) Thomas and Edward Thomas; four grandchildren, Mark, Joelle, Elisha and Evan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. At Elaine's request there are no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steel Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
