Obituary of Richard Thomas Marsh

Richard Thomas Marsh, age 85, passed away unexpectedly at home with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Richard Thomas Marsh was the son of the late Roland and Florence Masters Marsh; whom migrated from Somerset, England, born on October 19, 1931. He was the youngest of six predeceased siblings, his brother, also England born, Ronald Marsh; sisters, Lillian Marsh-Ryan, Genevieve Marsh-Bulloch, Laura Marsh-Bramer and Katherine Marsh-Jennings. Richard was a proud Veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. He later worked as an electrician for IBEW, local 166 out of Schenectady; retiring in 1993. On March 26, 1977 Richard married his love and companion, Mary Lamphere-Marsh.; together they enjoyed traveling on many trips to Florida and Myrtle Beach in the winter seasons. Dick was an avid outdoors man; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved the holidays spent with his large family. His absence will be felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his children and grandchildren. They knew that they could always call grandpa for help and guidance; for he was knowledgeable about many things. Richard and Mary attended the Tribes Hill Presbyterian Church quite frequently. Besides his wife, Mary, Richard is survived by his daughters, Kelley Marsh and Jacquelyn DiScenza (Robert); step-daughter, Linda McNally; step-son, Larry McNally; five grandchildren, Anthony LaFranca, Melissa LaFranca, Robert LaFranca, Chelsea Kisielis and Ethan Richard Kisielis; three step-grandchildren, Michael McNally, Meghan McNally and Kyle McNally; four great-grandchildren, Isabella LaFranca, Anthony LaFranca Jr., Lucas LaFranca and Madeline LaFranca. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. It was Richard's wishes that there be no formal viewing or services.
