Obituary of Jack W. Coloney
Jack W. Coloney, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Fulton County Residential Healthcare Facility in Gloversville.
He was born in Broadalbin on September 5, 1926, the son of the late Ralph and Bertha Eaton Coloney.
Jack owned and operated Coloney's General Store in North Broadalbin. He also worked in the Textile Business in the area and was a metal stretcher at Keymark in Fonda.
Jack served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was also a member of the VFW Post 8690 and the Lazy 8 Flying Club in Tribes Hill.
Jack had three children: a son Jack A. Coloney of New Hartford, NY, a son Jay A. Coloney and his wife Jean of Treadwell, NY and a daughter Jill A. Coloney of Halfmoon; a longtime companion, Betty Craver of Gloversville; four granddaughters: Kathleen, Lauren, Elizabeth & Siera and other extended relatives including Heather Thompson of Portland, ME.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Robert and Ralph Coloney and a sister Doris "Betty" Thompson.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to a VFW of your choice. Arrangements are with the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville.
