Obituary of Ralph L. Mecca

Mr. Ralph L. Mecca, 48 years old, of Milton Avenue, died Tuesday at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam. He was born June 30, 1959 in Germany, a son of Joseph and Ursula Kobelt Mecca. Ralph moved to the United States at the age of 16 locating in Amsterdam 23 years ago. He served with the US Air Force achieving the rank of Airman First Class. Ralph worked as a floor covering estimator for Carpets R Affordable for ten years before accepting a position with Ruby & Quiri Inc. where he was employed for seven years until ill health forced his retirement in 2006. Ralph was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. He was completely devoted to his family and lived life to its fullest. Ralph enjoyed horseshoes, pool and darts. Survivors, in addition to his parents of Amsterdam, include his wife, the former Cindy Fasciglione, whom he married September 21, 1985; his daughters: Melissa and Jessica Mecca, both of Amsterdam, and his son Joseph Mecca of Amsterdam; his brother Frank Mecca of Texas; his sister Sabine Parks of Amsterdam; his grand daughter Melina Partridge and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 40 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, with The Rev. William T. Hodgetts, Jr. officiating. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00pm at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
