Obituary of Mary Eliza Fremmer

Mary Eliza Fremmer, 97, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Fulton County Residential Healthcare Facility in Gloversville. She was born in Bleecker on February 11, 1911 the daughter of the late Rubin and Lottie Caldwell Baird. Mrs. Fremmer was a lifelong resident of Gloversville. She worked in the glove industry at various locations throughout the years. She was also a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gloversville. On June 22, 1931, she married John Fremmer. They enjoyed 54 years together until he passed away in 1985. Survivors include her two children: a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dona Fremmer and a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Richard Elmendorf, all of Gloversville. Mary is also survived by six grandchildren: Kelly Bradt, Randy Elmendorf, Gretchen Fremmer, Christine Fremmer, Johnathan Fremmer and Aaron Fremmer; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by five brothers: Percy, Edgar, Milton, John and Fulton; and two sisters: Belle and Mildred. Calling hours will be Monday, June 30 from 5 to 8pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 1 at 11am at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. David Almleaf officiating. Burial will follow in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
