Obituary of Patricia A. Brown

Patricia A. Brown of Schenectady died Sunday at Nathan Littauer Hospital, she was 56. Born May 14, 1952 in Long Island, NY, she was a graduate of Maria Regina Catholic High School. An area resident since 1987, she had worked as a nurse's aide at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility while attending FMCC. She graduated from the nursing program and subsequently received her registered nursing license. Patricia was a registered nurse at Ellis Hospital for the past eleven years. She was pre-deceased by her husband Richard Brown in 1979. In her free time, Patricia enjoyed cooking, reading and watching football. Survivors include her daughters; Rachel J. Woods Matthew of Johnstown and Rebecca Miedema James of Port Jervis, N.Y. She is also survived by her father Dominick De Benedictis and her mother Eleanor Quinn Ellis and step-father Earl Ellis of Pompano Beach, Florida. Additional survivors include her sister, Kathleen Ellis of Connecticut, a brother Richard De Benedictis Lorna of Plainfield, CT, a brother-in-law Ronald Brown Doris of Bel Air, Maryland, grandchildren: Eve and Lilth Woods and Jacob and Diana Miedema as well as a niece. She was pre-deceased by her partner of eighteen years Heather Childs. A funeral service will be conducted 5 pm Wednesday from the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville with Reverend R.W. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3-5 pm prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady.
