i remember meeting mr zilka several times as i grew up in johnstown. he was friends with my father john. probably played baseball together at jhs. a big fella, outgoing, joking with my dad, that's how i remember him.

Marie, Linda, Family: I know you all know how I feel about your family; and I'm sure you understand that somehow I feel a part of your family. How fortunate you all were to have such wonderful, generous parents. You shared so many fun and happy moments together that will be with you for a lifetime. It's an adjustment having both of them gone. Time will heal some of the loss but there will be times when you're going to miss them all over again. Believe me, I know. Linda and Marie,
I'll always remember your Dad as a quiet, loving, gentle "giant" - He always was "around" supporting you when you needed to be supported, listening to your many and varied stories and laughing with you when it was funny.
I'd like to say that I was surprised to read about your Dad's list of accomplishments, but really am not all that surprised by his true humbleness...My heart aches. There are no words that can truly express the feelings that I had for BOTH of your parents. They were my friends, as well, and to say that I shall miss them when I visit G'ville is an understatement...Find solace in the knowledge that the 2 of you were great daughters and Ed knew this...

To the Zilka and Wojeski Families:
I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Zilka's passing. I saw him at all of Chris's sporting events - and I loved sharing stories with him, or recapping the games with him.
Take Comfort in his memories. He was a wonderful husband, and a devoted father and grandfather and it showed in everything he did.

My family owned G. Levor & Company and I had the opportunity as a child to meet Ed on several occasions when in visited the factory. On each, my father, Bob, stressed what valuable and productive employees Ed and his brother Rudy were. For all the wonderful years he gave to our family, I want to express our sincere condolences on behalf of the entire Rothschild family. G. Levor has been gone for a good while now but Ed's many contributions have not been forgotten.
