Obituary of Howard J. Patterson

Howard J. Patterson, 60, of Clizbe Avenue, formerly of Saratoga Springs, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 25, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Saratoga Springs, August 28, 1947, the son of Roy G. and Shirley Coonradt Patterson. Howard was of the Catholic faith and was a resident of Saratoga Springs until the year 2000. He served with the Seabees in the United States Navy, having done a tour of duty in Vietnam. Howard was employed with Thomas Fitzpatrick, Realtor & Builder for more than 33 years, and as a Building Services Associate with The Ayco Company, L. P. for more than 10 years. Following the death of his first wife, the former Bonnie L. Woodcock, he married the former Christine A. Mack on August 18, 2002. Howard enjoyed hunting, working his farm and spending time with his grandchildren. His loving family includes his mother, Shirley Young and her husband, Al of Victory Mills; his wife, Christine A. Patterson of Amsterdam; a son, Howard J. Patterson, Jr. and his wife, Kristie of Saratoga Springs; two grandchildren, Patrick John and Jessica Marie and a sister, Royanne Patterson of Saratoga Springs. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Burke funeral home. Contributions in Howard's memory may be made to his grandchildren's educational fund in c/o Christine Patterson, 208 Clizbe Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home.
