Miss Velz was my 3rd grade teacher. I am 24 years old, but I will not forget the endless patience that she had for me, despite my considerable amount of 8 year old spunk. Thanks Miss Velz, we will miss you.

Our condolences go out to the Velz family. Mike and I were blessed to have Mary Anne as a colleague and a friend. I was lucky enough to have her as a teacher. No words can adequately convey our sadness at Mary Anne's passing. Her memory will live on in the hearts of the hundreds - maybe thousands - of students she inspired.

Dear Velz Family, I was shocked to hear of Mary Anne's passing too. She was always so full of life, with a pep in her step and a smile on her face. I also had the privlege of having Mary Anne as a teacher. When people look back and think about the one teacher who had inspired them the most, I will always think of Mary Anne. I was in the third grade the fall after my Mom died, and she was so very understanding and compastionate. I will remember her in my prayers. May she rest in peace.

To Ms. Velz's family,
I was very saddened to hear about Ms. Velz's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Velz during my 5 years of teaching at SMI. I always loved hearing about all her adventures when she filled in for the Afterschool Program. She certainly was an inspiration to all who knew her. My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

To the Velz family,
I too had the honor of working with Mary Anne. She was truly and inspiration to all of us at SMI. I was also able to experience her selfless dedication since she taught two of my children. She always made learning fun and truly cared about each and every student she came in contact with! You should find comfort in knowing that Mary Anne truly made a difference in so many lives. She will be greatly missed!

I am so sorry for the passing of Mary Ann. When I was a new teacher starting out at SMI, Mary Ann always made the time to help me and offer support. She worked tirelessly to raise the academic bar for her students. I am honored to have worked with her and to have known such a selfless person. I am truly sorry for your loss.

To The Velz Family,
Mary Anne and I had worked together at S.M.I. for 23 years. She was a dedicated teacher and a good friend as well. Mary Anne, myself, and a few other friends would get together for an occasional week-end breakfast, I looked forward to her "witty" conversations. I will miss her.

Dear Velz Family,
I was shocked and very saddened to hear of Mary Anne's passing.
I have know Mary Anne for a very long time, most recently as a teacher to one of my children. She was a great teacher and taught my son very much. She even took the extra time to spend with him after school if she saw that he needed extra help.
My mother, Barbara Reidy also spoke very highly of Mary Anne. May they meet in heaven and continue teaching.
I send my sympathies to you and your entire family at this most difficult time. May the Lord be with you and may you find comfort in prayer.
