Obituary of Lilyan Mosconi

Lilyan Mosconi, 95, died Thursday August 14, 2008 at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs. She was born on June 15, 1913 in New Brunswick, NJ the daughter of the late Samuel and Emsihihi Ackel Faris. Lilyan lived in Gloversville for most of her lifetime. She married Eugene Mosconi on April 20, 1939. They spent fifty years happily in marriage until he passed away on August 24, 1989. Lilyan and Eugene traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States, Lilyan also worked as a teacher's aide at the Park Terrace Elementary School. The Mosconis were also co-owners of the Wagon Wheel in Fonda for many years. The last few years she lived at Wesley Health Center in Saratoga Springs. She was known for being very family oriented and a 'people person'. Lilyan had a tremendous amount of friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include a nephew, Robert Zentz and his wife Judith M. of Burnt Hills, NY and two nieces: Marlene Zentz of Johnstown and Gail Z. Pearsall and her husband Gwynne of Pottersville, NY. She is also survived by several cousins and great nieces and nephews. Lilyan was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Faris and a sister Emily Zentz. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 10am from St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lexington Center, 127 East State Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements are with the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home in Gloversville.
