Obituary of David Kowalski
David Kowalski, 69, of Milton Avenue, passed away Friday evening at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
Born January 12, 1939 in Amsterdam, New York, he was the son of the late Felix and Katherine VanVoast Kowalski. He was a life long resident of Amsterdam and a 1956 graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Dave was employed as a sand man and crane follower for General Electric Company in Schenectady for eight years. He then worked for Coleco Industries in Amsterdam and was last employed by Noteworthy Company in Amsterdam as a commercial printer for nine years until retiring in 1999 due to ill health.
Dave was a member of the Woestina Reformed Church.
Survivors include his two sisters, Rose Kowalski of Amsterdam and Genevieve Freer of Pattersonville and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a lot of loving friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Rev. Kent McHeard officiating. Burial will take place in the Woestina Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
