Obituary of Sandra M. Donbeck James

Sandra M. Donbeck James, of Hagaman, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer for 5 years. Sandy was born in Gloversville on August 8, 1948, daughter of Helen Simek James and the late Oscar L. James Jr. She was educated in Gloversville schools and a graduate of Gloversville High School. For many years Sandy worked as administrative assistant for Gateway Cablevision and WCSS Radio in Amsterdam. She had also been manager of the Casual Corner Clothing stores in Glens Falls, Colonie and Saratoga Springs. A great conversationalist and devoted family person, she especially enjoyed being involved with her nieces and nephews. Always ready for a shopping trip or casino visit, Sandy also enjoyed golf, traveling and crocheting. In addition to her mother, Helen Simek James of Hagaman, she is survived by her daughter Terri Lynn Smith of Georgia, her brother Martin A. and Sally James of Mayfield, and her sister Lori and Michael Mucilli of Perth. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Stacy Marlin, Samuel James, Courtney James, Anthony Mucilli and Julie Mucilli; great nieces and nephews; Lilly Marlin and Liam Marlin. Sandy leaves aunts, uncles, cousins and her soulmate Donald Mattice, as well as many friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Monday at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, with Chaplain David Pilliod officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-6 pm. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
