Obituary of Doris M. Savoie Hart Sager

Doris M. Savoie Hart Sager, 90, formerly of VanAntwerp Road passed away peacefully August 22, 2008 at Wells House in Johnstown with her loving family by her side. She was born in Swanton, VT on June 18, 1918 a daughter of the late Frank and Alice Brusoe Savoie. Doris moved to this area as a child with her family and attended schools in the area. She was a homemaker who raised her family on their farm in Mill Point and was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Fonda. She was a member of the Glen-Mohawk Seniors, the Johnstown Moose and the Johnstown Seniors. Doris was an avid Bingo player who enjoyed her home, family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she's touched. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Hart, her second husband, Clarence Sager, her son Ralph Hart, her brothers, Anthony, George, Francis, Charles and Roland Savoie, and two sisters, Ruth Hart and Helene Woodford. Her loving family includes her daughter, Beverly Hart Siegle and her husband, Carl of Johnstown, one brother, Robert Savoie of Perth, two grandchildren, Deborah Oare and her husband, Steven of Johnstown and Jeffrey Siegle and his wife, Stacey of Georgia, and three great-grandchildren, Julia Siegle of Germany, Morgan Siegle of Georgia and Katlyn Brown of Georgia. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 3rd, 2008 at 11:30A.M. at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church, Broadway, Fonda, N.Y. with Rev. Patrick Gallagher as celebrant. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday September 3rd, 2008 from 9:00A.M. to 11:00A.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St., Fultonville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. of one's choice, the Glen Mohawk Seniors or to the Office for the Aging in Montgomery County.
