Obituary of Noreen J. Passino

Mrs. Noreen J. Passino, age 70 of Gloversville, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born on May 31, 1938 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Garrison Lyon. A 1956 graduate of Gloversville High School, she later received a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing and was employed for many years at Nathan Littauer Hospital Extended Care Facility. Noreen was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church where she was a former choir member. She was also a member of the Even Dozen Club and several local bowling leagues in the past. Reading, crocheting and crossword puzzles were among Noreen's favorite pass-times. Survivors include six children: Lisa M. Bilger Lyle Knisley of Ca'non City, CO; Michael B. Passino Pamala of Broadalbin, Mark E. Passino and Vicki A. Hill of Gloversville, Valerie B. Snell of Amsterdam and Mitchell C. Passino Karen of Broadalbin; two sisters: Sandra Ernst and Janice Fredericks of Gloversville; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Noreen was preceded in death by two grandsons: Mark E. Passino, Jr. and Kevin Robert Snell. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 10th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Cynthia J. VanAllen officiating. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
