Obituary of Jeannette P. Kedik

Jeannette P. Kedik, 93, formerly of Arnold Avenue, died early Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Mount Loretto Nursing Home where she had been a resident. A lifelong resident of Amsterdam, she was born on June 19, 1915 a daughter of the late Steven and Julia Usiewicz Sidlauskas. Mrs. Kedik was a parishioner of St. Casimir's and a member of its seniors. She worked for over 40 years for Mohasco as a carpet weaver retiring in 1980. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was married to Leo P. Kedik on October 30, 1938. That union lasted 60 years until his passing on October 18, 1997. She was also predeceased by a sister, Sadie Paris. Her loving family includes her only son, Richard Kedik and his wife Patricia of Edinburg; a sister, Mary Schell of Amsterdam; four grandchildren, Mark Kedik and his wife Lisa of Rotterdam, Scott Kedik and his wife Angela of Ballston Spa, Todd Kedik and his wife Leah of Altamont and Brian Kedik of Edinburg; nine great grandchildren, Abigail, Dillon, Andrew, Amelia, Brandon, Adam, Justin, Gabriella and Brian Jr.; two nephews, Donald Paris and his wife Christine of Pennsylvania and Martin Paris of Lake Placid. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 8 o'clock. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock. at St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir's Memorial Fund or to G.A.V.A.C. in care of the funeral home office.
