Obituary of Jane F. Moore
Jane F. Moore, 87, of Crescent Avenue, wife of William E. Moore, Esq. passed away Saturday morning at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born on May 5, 1921 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Arthur K. and Julia Hughes Faulds.
She graduated from the Wilbur H. Lynch High School, Class of 1938. Following high school, she attended Russell Sage College and graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree. Later she studied on an extension from Cobleskill State College and received a Master's degree.
In 1958 she commenced teaching as a classroom educator. From this position she was promoted to specializing as a remedial reading teacher, a position she retained until her retirement in 1981, ending her career as a teacher that spanned over twenty three years.
Following her retirement, she pursued her love of bridge playing with a local group of friends. In addition she enjoyed reading, often two full novels a week. She actively participated through the Amsterdam Library of the Literacy Program.
She is survived by her husband of sixty five years; her son Donald and his wife Christine Moore of Clifton Park, daughter Kathleen and her husband Raymond Lucynski of Amsterdam; five grandchildren; Katie, Kara Beth, Daniel, Sarah and Julie; three great grandchildren; Jacob, Brianna and Jude.
A service to celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20th at 2:00 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Greg DeSalvatore, presiding. Relatives and friends are invited and may call beginning at 1:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jane's memory to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home office.
