Aunt Adele was an important individual in my core upbringing as a Roach grandchild. She was the only aunt I knew who worked outside the home and to my eyes as a young girl, that was groundbreaking. She volunteered at the hospital and worked at the department store; to see her at Argersinger's or hear her talk about the hospital, well it was exciting to have such a progressive aunt, working outside the home. My memories are full of the noisy laughter and animated banter of a kitchen full of women. My Aunt Adele was always listening to you and trying to cheer you up. She also stood up and said things that were hard to hear, but sprang from hard truths. I will cherish my happy childhood memories and hold on to my witness of an early feminist.

John: I know you deal with loss every day in your business, but this is a personal, loving loss that challenges the heart. Always keep the memories of your mom available for loving review - the good times and the bad, the lessons of life she shared with you. I was at my mother-in-laws today Rose Foggia, and she sends her sympathy. I also picked up Jim and Lorrie Foggia Bean from the airport this afternoon. I think you and Lorrie must be about the same age and probably know each other. So allow your spiritual side to now help you during this difficult time - life is impermanent and constantly changing, but we always have our memories for those times we choose to use them.
