Obituary of Wesley Lathrop Muddle

Wesley Lathrop Muddle, 75, of Broadalbin, died September 25, 2008 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. He was born January 8, 1933, son of William and Ann Backus Muddle, in Hartford, CT and moved to Gloversville, NY shortly thereafter. Upon graduating from Governor's Academy and United States Coast Guard Academy he served in the Coast Guard for over five years. After several years in the insurance industry he became the third generation owner of Muddle & Muddle Insurance & Travel Agency and subsequently, owner of Holly's Marina. Wes was a former Commodore of Mayfield Yacht Club and Treasurer of Vettes-in-Perfection. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marjorie, his sons, William of Cape Canaveral, FL and Wesley Jr. of Agoura Hills, CA and five grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wesley's memory to the Double H Ranch, P.O. Box 1378, Williston, VT 05495.
