Obituary of Anne L. Materazzo

Anne L. Materazzo, a resident of Amsterdam, NY passed away Thursday October 2, 2008 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with her loving family at her side. Born in Johnstown, NY, a daughter of Louis and Concetta Testa Materazzo. Anne was a life long resident of the Amsterdam area and was a 1945 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She went on to graduate from the former Amsterdam School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary for many years at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady before retiring in 1982. Anne was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Survivor's include four loving sisters, Josephine Petrosino, Elvira Simeone Stefano, Natalie Biasini Julius and Susan Rowley all of Amsterdam. One dear brother, Patrick Materazzo Josephine of Sidney, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funerals services will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2008 at 10:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, followed by a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15A.M. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Amsterdam, with Father Pascal "Pat" Iannotti and Father Lawrence J. Decker. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday October 6, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Anne's memory to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Office for the Aging, 380 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
