"Evie,
There are no words that can express the loss of your wonderful partner and my friend. Betty was my inspiration and mentor. She taught me many things. Both you and Betty gave me structure in my life when I needed it the most. We were a family and without your love and guidance there is no telling what my life may have become. There wasn't a tool Betty could not master or a job she could not do on her own. Ok maybe cooking. I will forever hold in my heart the memories of what Betty taught me over the years. Like cutting crown molding, pounding rebar into 6x6s to hold a retaining wall, installing new plumbing, doing the hustle to some 80s tune at 2am in the morning only to head for the dump the next day after partying all night or cutting down a 20 foot Christmas tree and hauling it home. The life size snowwoman on the deck ready to cook a meal. The rose colored van in the mid of winter. Dancing in the sunroom with just a stereo, speakers, and 3 happy ladies. Who could ever forget the boat on the river and the woman who threw her ring away! If the river could talk. I only wish I had the opportunity to tell Betty how she touched my life. I know she knew I loved her dearly but she had no idea the influence she had on my life. As I sit here with tears rolling down my face there are a flood of found memories. Betty I will miss you but your memories will last a lifetime. Thank you for reaching out and taken that 20 something year old under your wings! May the angels lift you up and carry you to a place where you will no longer have any sickness and the party now can begin.
