Obituary of Helen J. Bazarnick
Helen J. Bazarnick, 84, of Log City Road, passed away peacefully Monday morning at the Edward L.Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a lengthy illness.
Born in Beloit, WI on Feb. 16, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Bevier Sparks. She was a graduate of Beloit High School. During World War II, she was employed as a blue print tracer for Fairbanks Morris, a firm that manufactured equipment for submarines for the US Navy. Following the war, she moved to Amsterdam in 1945 where she has since lived. Helen was employed for many years as the tax collector for the Town Of Amsterdam. Her main concern was for her family and she was a dedicated wife, mom and grandmother.
On July 18, 1944, she was united in marriage to Stephen Bazarnick.
In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her children; sons; Thomas P. and his wife Holly of Harvard, Mass., and Robert J. and his wife Frances Bazarnick of Gansevoort, daughter Elizabeth Bazarnick of Gloversville; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and cousins.
Her sister, Bette Griffin predeceased her.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, where the Legacy Candle Ceremony will take place. Calling hours are private and contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Interment will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery.
