Obituary of Katharyn Hazelton

Katharyn Hazelton 64, of Guy Park Avenue, passed away Tuesday morning at the Westchester Medical Center as the result of a fire at her home. Born in Albany county on April 18, 1944, she was the only child of the late Phillip and Abby Akerman. She moved to this area in 1970 where she has since resided. Katharyn worked for Coleco, the Montgomery County Infirmary, and Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. She is survived by her long time companion Paul Oleksak of Amsterdam; her children; Jacqueline A. Harvey Sajdak Allen of Amsterdam, Robert Emmy Lou Hazelton of Amsterdam; Phillip Janine Hazelton of Tribes Hill, and Ashley Frances Hazelton of the Town Of Amsterdam; grandchildren; Alexander, Cameron, Phillip Jr., and Deanna Hazelton, Heather Allen, Hilary, Nathan, Joshua and Samuel Hazelton and a great grandson on the way. Services are private at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to Ronald McDonald House, in care of the funeral home office.
