Obituary of Raymond Peter Loux
Raymond Peter Loux, 80, of Bleecker died Tuesday October 28, 2008 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
He was born in the family home in Bleecker on January 20, 1928 the son of Peter and Almeda Bowler Loux.
A lifelong resident of Bleecker, he attended Bleecker School. Raymond married Alice Bleyl on May 15, 1948. He was a logger employed by Bleyl Lumber in Bleecker. He was a member of the Nick Stoner Senior Citizen Club.
Raymond especially enjoyed family celebrations and also cutting firewood. Before he was disabled, he enjoyed stream fishing for trout and deer hunting. Later in life he kept busy gardening and tending to his blueberry patch.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Alice Loux of Bleecker; a son, David Loux Leda of Delmar, NY; two daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy Soanes Royce of Halfmoon, NY and Sally Miller Frank of Jamison, PA; two grandsons: Sgt. Peter Loux Lisa stationed in Ft. Richardson, AK and Andrew Loux of Delmar, NY; a great-grandson, Charles Loux of AK and many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was predeceased by a sister Doris Hurd and two brothers: Arnold and Roger Loux.
Calling hours will be Friday October 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kathy Reese of Bleecker Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in the St John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bleecker. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nick Stoner Senior Citizen Club, P.O. Box 11, Caroga Lake, NY 12032 or to the Bleecker Community Church, 503 Co. Highway 112, Gloversville, NY 12078.
