Obituary of Veronica Gegzno

Veronica Gegzno, 88, of Eagle St., Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday November 4th, 2008 at St. .Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 6, 1919 a daughter of Paul and Appolonia Blazevitch. She was a life long Amsterdam resident and attended the former Green Corners School. Mrs. Gegzno was a homemaker all of her life and enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She was a parishioner of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She married Steven Gegzno. He passed away in 1956. Veronica is survived by Three sons, Paul Gegzno Jo-Ann of Amsterdam, Edward Gegzno of Amsterdam and Michael Gegzno of Perth, NY. One daughter, Wanda Madej Patrick of Amsterdam. Four Grandchildren, Patrick Madej Renee, Renee Walsh Jimbo, Mark Anthony and Michael Gegzno. Four great-grandchildren, Hannah and Haley Madej, Peyton and Owen Walsh. One sister-in-law, Noreen Blaise of Schenectady. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Veronica was predeceased by one son Steven Gegzno and most recently her daughter, Frances M. Anthony on February 19, 2003. She also was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony and Peter Blaise. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday November 6th, 2008 at 11:00A.M. at St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, East Main St. Amsterdam with Father Stanislaus Swierzowski as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY. Calling hours are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA or to Community Hospice of Amsterdam.
