Obituary of Elizabeth Hroncich

Elizabeth Hroncich, 92, formerly of Guy Park Avenue and Ramsey Avenue, passed away Monday, November 10, 2008 at E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam with her loving family by her side. She was born in Amsterdam March 18, 1916 a daughter of the late Frank and Angelina Ciarmella Turo. Elizabeth was a life resident of the area and attended local schools. She was of Roman Catholic faith and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She married Walter K. Hroncich at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany on September 13, 1934, he predeceased her on March 25, 1988. Elizabeth was known by many as a seamstress for the former Mohawk Dress Shop in Amsterdam for several years before her retirement in 1978. She was very active in her church and was a lifetime member of the Christian Women Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Elizabeth was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her loving family includes her daughters; Anita Dunlavey of Clifton Park, Marie David Riker of Albany, Frances "Skip" Robert, Jr. Daley of Amsterdam and Roseann Frank Czwakiel of Pattersonville, her sons; Arthur J. Claudia Hroncich of Clifton Park, Joseph J. Patricia Hroncich formerly of Tribes Hill, Anthony Nancy Hroncich of Perth and John P. Robin Hroncich of Lascruces, NM, her sisters; Teresa Ruggeri of Johnstown, Mary Natole of Amsterdam, Susan Roszak Stanof Scotia and Edith Furman of Amsterdam and her brother; Dominic DeTuro of Amsterdam. 46 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents and her husband, Elizabeth was predeceased by her son, Walter A. Hroncich on February 1, 1996, a grandson, Joseph L. Daley on July 2, 1993, two sisters, Nancy Ouellette and Carmella Karchesky and three brothers, Angelo, Vincent and Anthony Turo. Prayer Services will be at 8:15AM on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Lawrence A. Decker as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home. The Christian Women Society of OLMC will meet at 3:30PM, Thursday, at the funeral home for prayer services. Contributions in Elizabeth's memory may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, P.O.
