Obituary of C. Thomas Enright

Mr. C. Thomas Enright, 89, formerly of West Ames Road, Canajoharie, died peacefully November 27, 2008 at the Palatine Nursing Home. A lifelong area resident, Tom was born on May 19, 1919 to Thomas and Mae Wessel Enright. He along with his brother owned and operated the Creek Crest Farm. Tom was an avid gardener known for his vegetables and large pumpkins and his fondness for all sorts of poultry and fowl. Tom was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Moose in Canajoharie. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Tri-Town Bowler Hall of Fame. He also was a former member of the Ames Volunteer Fire Department and the Silver Spur Riding Club. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. On December 31, 1949 he was united in marriage to Bernice E. Enright. That union lasted 53 years until her passing on April 3, 2002. Survivors includes, one son, George Enright of Canajoharie; a daughter, Laurie Davis of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Theron "Jake" Enright and Kenny Enright, both of Ames; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 7 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4 until 7 prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the spring in the Ames Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ames Volunteer Fire department or the Moose of Canajoharie in care of the funeral home.
