Obituary of Janetmay S. Bullis

Janetmay S. Bullis, 73, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. She was born on December 22, 1934 in Broadalbin, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Fannie King Sabattis. She worked as a housekeeper at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. She was married to Robert Bullis on August 31, 1968. He predeceased her April 1, 2002. Janetmay was a lifelong member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church. She was known as "Nana" there because of her work in the church's nursery, where she cared for hundreds of children over the years. They all were very special to her and she found much joy in caring for them. She enjoyed needlepoint, going for long drives and her cat, Princess Star. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include a brother, Charles Sabattis Anne of Brooksville, FL; one nephew, Charles "Corky" Sabattis Jen of Fairfield, ME; three grand-nieces: Traci Witham of Grey, ME, Courtney Green of Fairfield, ME and Natasha Sabattis of Waterville, ME; one grand-nephew, Mitchell Sabattis of Charlestown, MA; two great-grand nieces: Kara and Gretchen, three great-grand nephews: Luke, Gavin and Tyler and her very special friends, Steve and Cheryl Acquilla of Amsterdam. Family and friends are invited and may call Sunday, November 16 from 2-3 p.m. at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Blanc officiating. Interment will be private at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Bullis' memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211 or to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
