Obituary of Molly Pavlak
Molly Pavlak, 92, of Elm St. Pattersonville, a former resident of Locust Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday November 26, 2008 at her home.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 22, 1916 a daughter of Michael and Edna Meliosky. Mrs. Pavlak was a homemaker most of her life. She was raised in Ft. Johnson and attended local schools. She worked for a time at Collette Mfg. and the Chief Textiles Co. both in Amsterdam. Molly loved to sew and enjoyed her winters with her husband in Zephryhills, Florida.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, and it was there that on October 20, 1940 she was united in marriage to Louis Pavlak. He passed away on April 23, 2008.
Survivor's include, her loving daughters; Lorraine Nowak VanWingerden and her husband John of Pattersonville, NY, and Patricia SanSoucie and her husband Eddy of Amsterdam; One brother, Edward FrancesMeliosky of Amsterdam; grandchildren; Philip Susan Nowak and Kimberly Sean Meca; great grandchildren; Jamie and Jarrett Nowak, Tyler Meca and twins Madisyn and Conner Meca; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Molly was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor Meliosky.
Services will be held on Saturday November 29, 2008 at 10:15 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass which will be offered at 11:00 am. by Fr. David Mickiewicz at St. Casimir's Church, East Main Street, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours are Friday November 28, 2008 from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corner Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 85 Watervliet Ave, Albany, NY 12206-2083 Mrs. Pavlak's family would like to send a special thank you to Allison and Chris of Community Hospice of Amsterdam and Angel of St. Mary's Hospital Lab for the wonderful care extended to their mother.
