Obituary of Christina E. Auspelmyer

Christina E. Auspelmyer, 78, of Snooks Corners Road, Town of Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 27, 2008 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam with her loving family by her side. She was born in Indian Lake January 11, 1930 a daughter of the late James L. and Ethel Mae Payne Fish. Christina was one of nine children having grown up in Charleston Four Corners. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Fultonville High School. She married Howard E. Auspelmyer of Amsterdam on October 22, 1950 at Charleston Four Corners Church and together they made their home on Snooks Corners Road and began a family. Christina worked at the former Montgomery County Infirmary for over 20 years until her retirement in 1993. She also sold Avon for several years and was affectionately known as the "Avon Lady" by many at the infirmary. Christina was an individual who lived her life by the principals of her faith. She was an active member of the Florida Reformed Church for many years as well as being a member of the St. Monica Court #61, Order of the Amaranth, and the Art-Wel Chapter 208, Order of the Eastern Star. Her loving family includes her husband of over 58 years, Howard Auspelmyer of Amsterdam, four daughters, Deborah Fordham and her husband Curtis of Luling, LA, Lorraine Sargalis and her husband Jeffrey of Amsterdam, Linda Wilkinson and her husband James of Amsterdam and Regina Shuffleburg and her husband Roland of Ashburn, VA, two sons, Wayne Auspelmyer of Amsterdam and Timothy Auspelmyer and his wife Tammy of Gloversville, and two sisters, Edna Finch of Fultonville and Doris Crockett of Rockville, CT. 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam with Rev. Cynthia Leonard, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Contributions in Christina's memory may be made to the Florida Reformed Church, 6255 State Highway 30, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
