Obituary of Donald Young

Donald Young, 71, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2008 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, NY. He was born February 15, 1937, the son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Blackinger Young in Gloversville. He was employed as a flusher for the Johnstown Leather Co. Donald was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Walters Young of Gloversville. Other survivors include five sons: Donald Scott Young of Gloversville, Bobby Young of Gloversville, Jonathan Young of Caroga Lake, Todd Young of Johnstown and Kevin Young of Arizona; a stepson, Frank Walters of Johnstown; a daughter, Kathy of Florida; two brothers: Elmer Young and Bill Young Val both of Gloversville; fourteen grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Young was predeceased by three children: Cindy Young, Lori Young and Jeffrey Young; two brothers: Frank and Forest Young and a sister, Wanda Scribner. Family and friends are invited and may call Thursday, December 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville. A funeral service will take place at 5 p.m. with the Reverend Sandra Geer presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd.
