Obituary of Dina Hyden

Dina Hyden, 87, of Wilkes Avenue passed away Monday, December 8, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was born in Lomza, Poland April 11, 1921 a daughter of the late Louis and Helen Ziman. As a child, Dina came to the United States with her family and was raised and attended schools in Brooklyn. She married Irving Hyden on August 22, 1943 who predeceased her on April 8, 2006. Following their marriage, Dina and Irving moved to Amsterdam in 1945 where they would settle to raise their family. For many years, Dina was active in working with her husband in the family business, Mohawk Dress, Inc. She was a member of the Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue in Amsterdam, and its Sisterhood and was an avid reader. Dina was also known locally as an Artist who loved to work with oil paints. Her loving family includes her sons, Steven D. Hyden and his wife Maria of Tampa, FL and Robert H. Hyden of Delanson, NY, her granddaughter, Amy Hyden of Tampa, FL and a sister, Rose Greif of Pompano Beach, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue, 355 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the services, beginning at 10:00AM at the Synagogue. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dina's memory may be made to Congregation Sons of Israel, 355 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home in Amsterdam.
