Obituary of Charles Robert Fox

Charles "Charlie" Robert Fox, 47, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 8, 1969 in Gloversville, he was the son of Ellen Rulison Johnson and the late Harold Fox, Sr. Charlie attended Gloversville High School and worked at numerous leather mills in the Gloversville area over the years. He was currently the owner and operator of ADK Landscaping in Gloversville. Charlie was an avid race car fan since he was in his early teens. He worked on the pit crew for Chad Edwards who raced at Fonda Speedway, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park and the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. Charlie also enjoyed following NASCAR and watching his favorite driver Tony Stewart. When Charlie wasn't at the track he enjoyed hunting and fishing in Cherry Valley and ice fishing in Mayfield. Survivors include his mother Ellen Rulison Johnson; Sister Michelle L. Sweet (Dean); Brothers William M. Fox (Lisa) and Harold Fox, Jr. (Jennifer) and dear friends Cathy Wroble and Chad Edwards (Amanda). Charlie is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Harold Fox, Sr.; sister Kathryn Fox; nephew Jared Fox and step-daughter Heather Wroble. Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4-7 P.M. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A service to celebrate Charlie's life will take place on Thursday, March 2 11 A.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. RW Williams officiating. Spring burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville at a time to be announced.
