Godâ??s Garden
God looked around His garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
Godâ??s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered â??Peace Be Thine.â?
It breaks our hearts to lose you
But you didnâ??t go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

My Tribute
- by Colleen Oâ??Brien
In a little town called Scotia
On a cold winter morn
To Clarence and Mabel Oâ??Brien
A baby boy was born.
They named him Vernon Clarence
He was their pride and joy
They were so very proud
Of their new baby boy.
To Minaville they soon moved
He grew into a strappy lad
He learned to trap, to fish, to hunt
And made his parents very glad.
He did finish high school
As all boys really should
Continued to make his parent proud
They thought he was very good.
Then to the School of Commerce
A higher degree to pursue
But something happened to change his life
And caused him to feel so blue.
His father died before his time
Leaving his mother all alone
So Vern went to earn a living
Over schooling he did not moan.
On the â??Minaville Tomatoesâ? softball team
He pitched and played for fun
And when his turn came to bat
It was often a home run.
Then suddenly his country was in trouble
He knew what he had to do
He joined the US Army
To defend our red, white and blue.
He left on the Queen Mary
To Europe he did sail
Along with hundreds of other young men
They went in on General Pattonâ??s tail.
Thirteen was the number on his helmet
And for him it must have been good
For he came back to the USA
As his mother prayed that he would.
Then one day he saw a young girl
Painting a porch next door
He knew Lorraine was who he wanted
He had to look no more.
They married Easter Sunday
April Seventeenth, Nineteen Forty Nine
They were young, in love, and happy
And for them, life was truly fine.
Soon they were expecting
And along came their first son
They decided they needed a house
And building one would be fun.
They worked hard together
Using cement, and nails, and wood
Building the home of their dreams
As they knew they could.
Soon born to them another son
Life was so very good
He felt he had so much to teach them
As all good fathers would.
He taught them kickball, softball, horseshoes
But fishing was the best
It was the thing he truly loved
It was then he could relax and rest.
He taught them family values
Both in words and in deeds
He only could hope theyâ??d listen
For he could only plant the seeds.
The years flew by so quickly
Their sons were suddenly grown
Where or where had the time gone
They couldnâ??t help but quietly moan.
The sons found wives of their own
And along came grandchild number one
â??A girlâ? he was told - he said that canâ??t be
The Oâ??Brien family has had none.
A girl it was - Christina her name
She surely stole his heart
Heâ??d make sure he taught her
To love fishing right from the very start.
Timothy, Cara and Robert soon followed
And to Grandpa and Grandmaâ??s they would go
To play, to relax, to just hang out
They were always welcome there, you know.
Kickball, softball, horseshoes
Camping, fishing, and all of the rest
He had so much to teach them
In order for them to be their very best.
Then along with age came some problems
That an aging body must face
But he continued to press forward
In order to finish the race.
The years had been good to him
Heâ??d lived a good, long life
And knew he couldnâ??t have made it
If it wasnâ??t for his loving wife.
He knew it wouldnâ??t be long now
He knew the end was in sight
He was ready for it to be over
His body didnâ??t have any more fight.
With pride, dignity and honor
Is how this great man died
At the end - concerned about his family
And, of course, his wonderful bride.
Now his legacy will continue -
For he is not really gone
He continues to live in each of us
So let his legacy live on.

We would like to express our sorrow for the O'Brien Family. I am sure he will be missed at the AutoBody Shop doing his errands and for talking with the customers. LaVerne has fond memories of him while working at Mohasco and General Electric. Now there will be no more conversation with him, even at the Four Corner Tire Place.
