Obituary of Virginia St. Amour

Virginia St. Amour, 90, of Queen Ann Road, passed away Monday afternoon at the River Ridge Living Center. Born in Corinth, New York on September 24, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Hannah Van Horn Swart. Virginia lived for a time in Newcomb before returning to Amsterdam in 1973. After raising her family, she worked for a time at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. A loving home maker, Virginia enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a generous person, and was always ready to help anyone who needed her. Virginia was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Her husband Wilfred St. Amour passed away in 1985 and her son Howard St. Amour also predeceased her. She leaves her sons, Wilfred Judy St. Amour Jr. of Long Lake, Raymond Darlene St. Amour of Scotia, Leonard Sylvie St. Amour of Fultonville and BernardChris St. Amour of Tribes Hill; a sister, Barbara Bobblin of the Town Of Glen; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, parents and son, a brother Edgar Swart and a sister Marion Swart also predeceased her. Virginia's family is most grateful to the staff of the C Wing at River Ridge Living Center, LLC for their care and compassion during her illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church, East Main Street with Fr. John Medwid, celebrant. Spring interment will take place in Chuctanunda Cemetery, Minaville. Calling hours are Thursday from 3-6 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease And Related Disorders Association in care of the funeral home office.
