Dear Donald, Pat and Ken - Kathy Sieg just told me of Evelyn's death and I want to send you our sympathy in her passing. How wonderful for her now to be with those she loved so well, including of course her Lord -- and her husbands and Jane Anne and other family members. Evelyn was like a second mom to me during the high school and college years that Jane Anne and I were such good friends. Whoever wrote her obituary did a wonderful job in describing her! "Amen" is right. I was able to stay in contact with her as long as my Mom was still living at Paradise Point Mom died in January of 2006 but moved from there several years earlier - even making Evelyn a pair of wool mittens once to match a fabulous red coat she had. She always wanted to see pictures of my children and was so interested to stay in touch. I loved her!! I regret that I lost touch in the last few years -- Ray and I moved several times and it was hard to stay on track. We are settled now in a Baptist Church not far from Cooperstown. Dear Family of Evelyn: Having lived my whole life in Gloversville, I knew Evelyn from the SS office. She helped my family many times over the years and was always cheerful and kind. I know you will all miss her dearly, but are grateful for her long life. I wanted to compliment the architect of this obituary to Evelyn. Donald, Pat, Ken and Kathryn: My deepest condolences go out to you and your families on Evie's passing. She was one of the sweetest and most caring persons I will ever know.
