Obituary of Sadie L. Kozak
Mrs. Sadie L. Kozak, 90 years old of Jerry Avenue, died Friday at Ellis Hopital. Mrs. Kozak was born December 30, 1918 in Amsterdam, a daughter of Joseph and Sally Gegzna Luksus. She was educated in Amsterdam schools, moving to Schenectady in 1951, where she had since resided. Mrs. Kozak was employed by the N.Y.S. Dept. of Taxation and Finance in Albany retiring in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Church Women's Club. Mrs. Kozak volunteered for Proctor's Theater and also for St. Clare's Hospital. She enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years.
On September 15, 1946 she married Edward Kozak who died March 13, 2001. Mrs. Kozak is survived by her son David Sandy Kozak of Schenectady and her grandson Marc Cheryl Kozak of Rye, NY. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Kozak was predeceased by her brother Benny Luksus and by her sister Amelia Kumparskas.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Inc., 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady, NY, with The Rev. Dr. John Califano officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 until 11:00am on Tuesday preceeding the funeral service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made: Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School in Schenectady.
