Obituary of Robert William Reschke
Robert William Reschke 77, of Reed Hill, passed away Saturday at the St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam surrounded by his loving family at his side.
Born March 27, 1931 in Staten Island, New York, he was the son of the late William and Ethel Conkling Reschke. He was a high school graduate.
Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Corporal in Army Security with the 304th Communication Reconnaissance Battalion on the front lines in Korea. He received a Commendation Ribbon with Medal pendant for his knowledge in communications during many combat situations that directly contributed to many combat successes of the 7th Infantry Division.
Bob and his family lived in Colts Neck, New Jersey for 23 years before moving to the Town of Glen, NY in 1988. While he was living in Colts Neck, Bob bred and raised standard bred horses and raced them. He was also a Heavy Equipment Operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15, CIO New York City and at the time worked for a private contractor building the Verrazano- Narrows Bridge. He later worked in the same capacity for the Sanitation Department for New York City where he worked at the Great Kills Landfill until retiring in 1988.
In his retirement Bob enjoyed going to auctions and farming.

Bob was the beloved husband, best friend and partner of Constance Lamprey Reschke; the father of Cheryl, Robert Jr., Glenn and Robin; grampy of Jason, Kate, Sarah and Chaila; father in law of Cindy; brother to William Franklin Anne Reschke; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
It was the request of Bob that there be no calling hours or funeral.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY.
