Obituary of Alexandra I. Arnold

Alexandra "Alice" I. Arnold, 92, of Sanford Avenue, passed away Monday afternoon at the Mount Loretto Nursing Home where she resided since November 2008. Alice was born in Amsterdam on October 20, 1916, to Michael and Veronica Yurkon Hlebowicz. A home maker, she was married in 1942 to Orville H. Arnold who predeceased her in October of 1999. She was also predeceased by her infant sister, Isabelle in 1918, and her brother Anthony "Doc" Hlebowicz in 2006. Alice was an avid reader who enjoyed her dog Shadow, cooking tasty desserts in her kitchen and working on many needlepoint projects that were displayed in her home. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Gerald C. and his wife Patricia Arnold of Hagaman and two cousins. Services are at the convenience of the family, and there are no calling hours. Interment is in St. Casimir's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA. Her family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
