Obituary of Esther L. Foye

Foye, Esther L., 86, of Gloversville, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. Esther was born on August 12, 1922 in New Berlin, NY. She was the daughter of the late Ralph A. Lennon and Pearl L. Leventhal Lennon. In her youth, Esther was a member of the YWCA and taught Sunday school in New Berlin. Esther taught elementary school for 32 years, in the Liberty, NY and Gloversville school districts. While teaching in Gloversville, she taught at Park Terrace Elementary. She was also a member of the National Education Association, New York Teachers Association, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Esther is survived by her husband, William L. Foye, Sr., of Gloversville; her son, William L. Foye, Jr., of Albany; a sister, Jane Millen Alton of Liverpool, NY and a brother-in-law, John J. Foye Margaret of California. Esther was preceded in death by her parents. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in Ferndale Cemetery in the spring. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
