Obituary of Esther Kucel

Esther Kucel, 93 of Gloversville rested peacefully on February 27, 2017 at Nathan LIttauer Hospital Nursing Home. She was the daughter of Peter and Frieda Parker. She married Stanley Kucel on February 4, 1945; he predeceased her on February 12, 2017. Esther and Stanley met while roller skating as teenagers. She is survived by three children, Vicki Kucel, Stan Kucel (Janet) and Lori Kucel; five grandchildren Eric (Gina), Kaile (Chris), Brittney (Brett) Stacie (Brandon), Erica (Joe); three great granddaughters Isabella, Aurora and Peyton. She was predeceased by her first born son Michael. Esther worked in several glove shops over the years prior to working as a sales clerk at Junior Shop and Jack & Jill stores in Gloversville. Esther enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, working roast beef dinners at church and bowling on the Bowling Belles League at the former Kobuskie Lanes, which was built by her husband. She enjoyed spending hours loving and caring for her grandchildren and watching them grow. Her holiday traditions and making every detail special will be missed by her family. A memorial service celebrating both Esther and Stanley's lives will be held on April 23, 2017 from 4 to 7PM at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mayfield Presbyterian Church.
