Obituary of Carl H. Tiberio
Mr. Carl H. "Carlos" Tiberio, 74, of East Grand Street, Palatine Bridge, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born on August 17, 1934 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Tiberio.
A lifelong area resident, Carl was a graduate of Canajoharie High School. He was employed for over 25 years for Amsterdam Printing and Litho Company as a printer. He was also a member of the Graphic Communications Conference of The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union, Local 259.
Carl enjoyed being a member of the VFW Earl Stock Memorial Post #3275 through the Men's Auxiliary, where he served as the first President. He also served proudly on the Memorial Squad and was very active in supporting the Post through various functions. Carl was also a member of the American Legion Post #31 in Little Falls, and the Canajoharie Moose. He will be remembered as a man of honor and was a true friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, the former Thelma Olmstead; and a brother, Bob Tiberio.
His loving family includes; his children, Brian Michele Tiberio of Palatine Bridge, Karla Jeffrey Hinz of Littleton, CO, and Kim Thomas Jorgenson of Cicero, NY; five grandchildren, Michael, Aric, Gunther, Michael and Eric; a brother, Joseph Lenore Tiberio of Orange City, FL; his family of the VFW of Fort Plain; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A prayer service will be conducted on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock at St. Peter's & Paul's Roman Catholic Church with Pastor William Gaffigan as celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4 until 7 Sunday evening at the funeral home. The VFW will meet at 6pm at the funeral home to honor Carl. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VFW Memorial Squad.
