Obituary of Jerome T. Kilinski

Mr. Jerome T. "Jerry" Kilinski, 76, of Center Street, Amsterdam died peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born on December 20, 1932 he was the son of the late Raymond and Clara Karaszewski Kilinski. A lifelong area resident, Jerry was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and was of the Roman Catholic faith. For over 33 years he was employed by the NYS Department of Transportation as a computer operator until his retirement in 1997. On May 8, 1955 he was united in marriage to the former Maryann Gaetano. That union lasted 52 years until her passing on February 24, 2008. He was also predeceased by a son in law, Jeffrey Van Epps. His loving family includes his children, Dawn Robert Bonanno, Karen Van Epps, Darlene Roger Kilinski-Simone and Mark Kilinski Mary Pat DeGroff; two sisters, Aldona Ruggerio and Clara Dolly Kilinski; one brother Leonard Kilinski; two grandchildren, April LaPorte- Bonanno and Kaylee Simone; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A prayer service will be conducted on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10:00a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, with the Rev. John Medwid as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours will held this evening Friday from 4 until 7 at the funeral home.
