Obituary of Dormer A. Faulknor
Mr. Dormer A. Faulknor, 85, of Fultonville, NY, passed away Tuesday February 3rd, 2009 at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on April 27, 1923 a son of Leslie and Nellie Faulknor. He was a resident of the Fultonville area and attended Town of Glen schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II as a Tech 4 in the European-African and Middle Eastern Theatres.
Mr. Faulknor was employed for over 37 years at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna as a Glass Cutter retiring in the 1980's. He was a member of the Glen Reformed Church and the Fultonville Masonic Lodge # 531 F & AM. Dormer was a member of the Town of Glen Volunteer Fire Department and was also a member of the Boy Scouts for many years.
He married Beverly Faulknor who passed away in 1996. He is survived by many relatives and friends. Mr. Faulknor was preceded in death by a brother Robert Faulknor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 7th, 2009 at 11:00A.M. at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St. Fultonville, NY with Rev. Chris DeGraaf presiding. A Calling Hour will begin at 10:00A.M. on Saturday where the Masonic Lodge #531 F & AM will conduct a service. The calling period will continue until 11:00A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville, NY in the spring. Full military honors also will be given on Saturday following the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fultonville Masonic Lodge #531 F & AM.
