Obituary of Joseph Andrew Dylong
Pattersonville, NY-Mr. Joseph Andrew Dylong, Jr., age 92, of Pattersonville, passed away after a short illness on Friday morning, March 3, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
He was born on August 28, 1924, son of the late Joseph Dylong and Caroline (Kulakiewicz) Dylong and educated at Draper High School. Joseph was a machinist at Research and Development Center of General Electric, retiring after many years of dedicated service at the age of 70 and ran a family farm throughout his life. He was united in marriage with Muriel Chislet in Amsterdam and she passed away on June 9, 1998.
Mr. Dylong loved being outdoors working in the fields. He was a very hard worker and dedicated farmer. A jack of all trades there was not much he could not do and always kept busy.
Survivors include his beloved family; his daughters, Debra Fish and husband Laverne of Mariaville, Denise Stevenson and husband Alan of Rexford, and Donna Dylong of Rochester; grandchildren, Jeanna, Joseph, Jason, Justin, Meghan, Tommy, Johanna, Brittany and Brandon and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Gregory Alan Dylong and his sister, Pearl Schaufelberg.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will commence at 10 am on Wednesday, March 8th from the chapel of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, Amsterdam.
