A cool glass of iced tea shared on our front porch always turned into a trip back into time with Howard, we even learned the origins of the sign for cracker from him, not because of his hearing loss but because of his age - kids hit crackers with their elbows to break them into bite-sized pieces before the perferation was added! He was a good man who missed his wife greatly.

Our neighborhood is saddened by the passing of Howard. When we moved into our house on Lansing Rd around 1976, Howard showed up to help us move in even though we didn't know him. My daughter loved to pick lilacs from his bushes every spring. When he was over 90 he came to our home for dinner and we were amazed at his mental sharpness and his memory. He remembered every snowstorm in Glen! We send our condolences to his family but at the same time he knows where he is and he was ready to go. I'm sure he's so thrilled right now to be with his wife. We'll certainly miss him!

My condolences to the family. When I started as a blacksmith, over 20 years ago, Howard helped me from time to time. His ideas were always well thought-out and practical. He was an excellent welder, as well.
I'm sure that nowadays you'd have to look long and hard to find another like him.

I wish to send my condolences to Howard's family. I worked for Howard in his welding shop prior to entering the Air Force. Howard was a very fine and upstanding man and I am proud to have been able to call him my friend.

Please except our condolence to the family. Howard was such a nice man. He use to come to our house and alway called our dad Uncle Charlie. I remember dad talking about taken Howard for ice cream when he was little. He would eat it fast and hold his head because he had eaten the ice cream to fast. We always enjoyed visiting with Howard.
